Predictions for 2013 – Update

A whole 6 weeks have passed since I made some sporting predictions for the year ahead. There are a few points which need some updating, I feel:

1. ” Chelsea will retain the FA Cup and win the League Cup too.”

Either that or Swansea will knock them out of the League Cup, and their FA Cup position doesn’t look overly rosy either following that draw with Brentford.

2.  “Inverness Caley will win a first major trophy in the League Cup.”

Hearts knocked them out on penalties in the semi-finals.

3. “Napoli will win the Europa League”

They got beat 3-0 at home by Viktoria Plzen this evening.

4. “Nigeria will win the Africa Cup of Nations, with Cote d’Ivoire again not living up to the hype.”

One out of four ain’t bad. Although I did also predict that Didier Drogba would retire post-tournament, and he unfortunately hasn’t yet.

Further updates to follow throughout the year, no doubt.
